Presentation

Since 2009, Angelin Preljocaj has presented each of his creations at Château de Versailles, and they are a constant source of amazement! For this new project, he brings together ten dancers from the Ballet Preljocaj and ten from the Ballet de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux. Mythologies is an exploration of our contemporary rituals and the founding myths that form our collective imagination. In the manner of the impressionists, he wishes to evoke what lies in the recesses of our existence, through our ideals and beliefs –  bringing ancient mythologies into dialogue with those of our time.

Beyond the legendary tales and stories that he likes to choreograph, myths and mythology are profound sources of inspiration: “Dance, the art of the indecipherable par excellence” springs from mythical monsters for this new creation!
