The Foundation of the Friends of the Royal Opera – Académie des beaux-arts is delighted to have been awarded the BEST BENEFACTOR OPER! AWARD 2024. This award recognizes the leading role that the Royal Opera season has taken on in the European musical landscape – an artistic season of excellence that has become an integral part of the Château’s worldwide reputation.

ADOR financially supports the world re-creation of André Modeste Grétry’s three-act opera-ballet La Caravane du Caire, presented at the Opéra Royal on June 9th, 10th and 11th 2023.

The Friends of the Opéra Royal are delighted to contribute this season to the revival of one of Grétry’s greatest successes, a landmark work of comic opera. The artistic team which, in October 2019, successfully resurrected Richard Cœur de Lion, Grétry’s other great success, is once again reunited for this new production of La Caravane du Caire: conductor Hervé Niquet and director Marshall Pynkoski sign a grandiose show featuring nearly 80 artists on stage in sumptuous painted canvas sets by set designer Antoine Fontaine and choreography by Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg….

The Fondation des Amis de l’Opéra Royal supports the new production of Charpentier’s opera David et Jonathas

This is Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s masterpiece, and it’s a project unique in its conception, bringing the five acts of danced and sung music from this biblical tragedy to the Chapelle Royale. It’s an ambitious project, reflecting the Foundation’s primary mission: to enable the realization of meaningful projects for the public and for the history of the Opéra Royal.

5th Gala Diner of the Friends of the Royal Opera (ADOR)

Sunday, October 9th, 2022. ADOR will give its 5th Gala Dinner to benefit the Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles on Sunday, October 9, 2022. The champagne reception in the Crusades Rooms will be followed by a Mozart concert in the Royal Opera and will continue, after a walk through the The King’s Apartments and the Hall of Mirrors, with a grand supper, in the majestic Gallery of the Great Battles.

The Foundation of the Royal Opera of Versailles was created at the Palace of the Institut de France on Wednesday March 10, 2021. The Foundation of the Royal Opera aims to ensure the continuation of a full artistic season at the Royal Opera and the Royal Chapel.
