Discover the virtuosity of the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles on tour ! Founded in 2019, it brings together the finest instrumentalists from the most prestigious ensembles and orchestras across Europe.
After an initial success with an exceptional concert in the summer of 2023, the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal et le Chœur will be returning to Le Thoronet Abbey on Tuesday 30 July for a sumptuous concert of 17th and 18th century French sacred music by Couperin, Charpentier and Clérambault. Chloé de Guillebon, a talented young harpsichordist and winner of several international competitions, will be conducting the Orchestra for this memorable evening.
A remarkable 12th-century building in the Var region of France, the Cistercian Abbey of Le Thoronet is a listed historic monument and a timeless setting for an unforgettable experience. The sublime abbey church is the perfect setting for these magnificent pages of French sacred music from the time of Louis XIV.
