In September 2024, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of ADOR – The Friends of the Royal Opera. For a decade, the Friends have accompanied the Royal Opera in its greatest achievements and contributed to its influence.

By joining the Friends of the Royal Opera you will protect the future of the Royal Opera, one of the world’s greatest works by King Louis XV’s architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, inaugurated on 16 May 1770 for the feast of the wedding of the Dauphin Louis XVI and the Archduchess Marie-Antoinette.

The Friends of the Royal Opera take full advantage of a sumptuous season of operas, concerts and ballets, and numerous benefits are offered to them.

Depending on the level of membership, the Friends are invited to performances, opening night cocktails with the artists, rehearsals, private tours, etc.

Your ADOR membership is tax deductible in France, EU and USA

ADOR is a non-profit organization, governed by the law of July 1, 1901, registered at the Prefecture of Yvelines, eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions. The Friends of the Royal Opera contribute actively to enhance the national and international reputation of the Royal Opera.

Residing in France

For Individuals Taxable in France: Your Donation is eligible for tax deductions up to 66%. A tax receipt will be provided for all donations.

Residing in Europe

For Individuals Taxable in Europe: The Transnational Giving Europe network (TGE) allows you to join ADOR and benefit directly from the tax benefits provided by the legislation of your country of residence. A tax receipt will be provided for all donations.

Resinding in USA

For American Tax Residents: Donors taxable in the United States can benefit from a tax reduction provided by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) through our partner, the French American Cultural Foundation,

Subject to Real Estate Wealth Tax (IFI)?

Donors who are taxable in France for real estate wealth tax (IFI) can benefit from a tax reduction of 75% of the amount of their donation within the annual limit of €50,000. For example, if a taxpayer makes a donation of €10,000 to the Royal Opera, they will be able to deduct €7,500 from their IFI.

The Foundation of the Royal Opera is eligible for this scheme.

The artistic projects supported by ADOR

ADOR is strongly committed to the Royal Opera and support each season several productions in the form of financial aid, allowing the recipients to develop their artistic projects which will be presented in the Palace of Versailles.

This essential support reflects more than ever the mission that the Friends of the Royal Opera have given themselves: providing the means to a new generation of baroque musicians to bring back to life the great masterpieces of our musical heritage.
