In April 2024, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera undertook a fifteen-date tour across China, Mongolia and Vietnam, in connection with the joint exhibition between the Château de Versailles and the Palace Museum of the Forbidden City in Beijing. This tour brought the orchestra’s expertise to audiences across Asia.

It had already performed at the inauguration of the Ho Guom Opera in Hanoi in July 2023, establishing a partnership between the Opéra Royal of Versailles and the Hanoi venue. This collaboration continued with the co-production of Thierry Malandain’s ballet Les Saisons in December 2023, later revived on tour in Hanoi in 2024, alongside performances of Malandain’s Marie-Antoinette in Bangkok.

Since then, the orchestra has maintained a regular presence in Asia, with further concert tours planned in China and Vietnam in 2026.
