Presentation

Twenty years after the first version of Symphonie Imaginaire, Marc Minkowski returns to his favorite composer, the great Rameau. It is undoubtedly in his orchestral works that this genius composer has poured the most of himself: constant invention, a never-ending melodic surprise, the richness of instrumentation—everything is dazzling! And Les Musiciens du Louvre are in their element, led with firmness and sensuality by one of the most ardent Rameau enthusiasts, who parades the orchestral gems of Castor et Pollux, Les Indes Galantes, Les Paladins, and ignites the stage with the emblematic baritone arias from Rameau: the grotesque Orcan calling for his vengeance, the solar invocation of the Peruvian Huascar, the dreadful monster feared by Anténor in Dardanus… all brought to life by the brilliant Thomas Dolié. For the release of the CD recorded during the grand penance, Marc Minkowski proudly leads his troops in a magnificent procession to the Glory of Rameau!
