This creation by Thierry Malandain brings together in a single programme The Four Seasons by Vivaldi and The Four Seasons composed by Giovanni Antonio Guido. Combining these two scores is a bold challenge, for although they share the same era and a common celebration of nature, they remain profoundly different.

This production by the Biarritz-based choreographer is all the more captivating when one knows his dedication to respecting the integrity of a score and the musicality that characterises his work. With The Seasons, Thierry Malandain continues the path shaped by his recent ballets, exploring the connections between humanity, living beings, and nature.

This is the fourth commission by the Royal Opera to Thierry Malandain: following Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Marie-Antoinette, The Seasons was created with the participation of the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal – promising a volcanic fusion of dance and music !
