Constantly seeking a rich sound and contrasting colours on period instruments, he performs as a soloist and conductor in some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Philharmonie de Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the KKL Luzern and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. He has shared the stage with renowned soloists such as Cecilia Bartoli, Franco Fagioli, Sol Gabetta, Julia Lezhneva, Giuliano Carmignola, Vivica Genaux, Simone Kermes, Nuria Rial, Maurice Steger, Gábor Boldoczki, Sergei Nakariakov and Christophe Coin.

Andrés Gabetta develops original interpretations and presentations of well-known works while exploring previously unrecorded pieces from the Baroque repertoire. This approach is reflected in his discography, which has received numerous accolades, including Grammy recognition for his recordings of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, as well as Choc awards and Diapason d’Or distinctions.

Discovered by Christophe Coin, Andrés Gabetta made his debut as concertmaster of the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges in 2004, before taking up the same position with the Basel Chamber Orchestra and founding Cappella Gabetta in 2011. In 2017, he collaborated with Cecilia Bartoli for the first time on the recording of the album Dolce Duello. She immediately invited him to join her as a soloist on a European tour devoted to Vivaldi. Since then, she has regularly invited him to perform as a soloist, concertmaster and conductor of her orchestra, Les Musiciens du Prince.

Gabetta Consort was born out of a desire to explore a varied, previously undiscovered and unusual repertoire of Italian and French Baroque music, sometimes venturing across the boundaries between different musical styles. This flexible ensemble, ranging from a quintet to a chamber orchestra, is built on the musical rapport and maturity developed by musicians who have been performing together for more than ten years.

Its projects include recording previously unrecorded violin concertos, rediscovering classical works from new perspectives and collaborating closely with leading artists on the international music scene.
