A shining star of the world’s leading opera stages, soprano Nadine Sierra comes to the Royal Opera for an evening of dazzling virtuosity and deep emotion. Bringing together the luminous elegance of Mozart’s finest arias and the refined artistry of Donizetti’s bel canto, this programme marks the American soprano’s first collaboration with the Royal Opera Orchestra—an artistic partnership that will continue with a tour of around ten performances across France and Spain.

The first half pays tribute to the genius of Salzburg. From the serene, wistful beauty of “Ruhe sanft” from Zaïde to the Countess’s poignant reflections in The Marriage of Figaro, the programme showcases Mozart’s unique blend of lyrical grace and dramatic insight. After the interval, the focus shifts to the vocal brilliance and emotional intensity of Italian bel canto. Donizetti’s heroines—from the spirited Norina in Don Pasquale to the tragic heroine of Lucia di Lammermoor—provide the perfect canvas for both technical brilliance and dramatic expression.

Joined by the Royal Opera Orchestra under the baton of Victor Jacob, Nadine Sierra displays the full range of her artistry and charisma. Combining sparkling orchestral overtures with breathtaking vocal showpieces, this recital promises to be one of the highlights of the Royal Opera’s season, and a landmark occasion, as the celebrated soprano makes her first-ever appearance at the venue.
