Presentation

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lies at the heart of Raphaël Pichon’s repertoire, whose interpretation of the Requiem — supplemented with various works by Mozart — caused a sensation both in 2019, in collaboration with Romeo Castellucci, and more recently on record. This time, the focus is on the Mass in C minor.

In 2026, Pygmalion celebrates its twentieth anniversary. Founded by Raphaël Pichon, the period-instrument choir and orchestra was recently named “Best Orchestra/Best Choir” at the OPER! Awards 2025. The ensemble, which emphasizes the connections running through music history as well as the interplay between choir and orchestra — often embracing innovative staged formats — returns to Mozart’s Mass in C minor.

This magnificent score, also left unfinished at the composer’s death, is performed here by an outstanding quartet of soloists, notably including Sabine Devieilhe.
