Presentation

The Orchestra of the Royal Opera of Versailles has established itself as one of the leading ensembles on today’s Baroque scene, both in concert and on disc. Under the direction of Stefan Plewniak, the orchestra, renowned for its incisive yet refined sound, invites us to a gala evening alongside exceptional soloists.

Mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg, dubbed the “Swedish Nightingale,” recipient of an International Opera Award and universally acclaimed for her mastery of the Handelian repertoire, shares the stage with countertenor Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian, one of the most sought-after artists of his generation.

Programme

Bringing together arias and duets by Handel, this programme showcases the brilliance and virtuosity of Baroque singing, where dramatic expression meets dazzling artistry. The interplay of voices, contrasts of emotion, and suppleness of the vocal line reveal the many facets of a lyrical art form brought here to the highest level.

Ann Hallenberg returns to the Concerts d’automne, where she performed in 2008, while Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera of Versailles make their Tours debut.
